I know that I’m guilty of it, packing terribly. Throughout the entire Pan-American Highway I was carrying twenty-two kilos worth of mostly garbage. I mean, what was I doing with a hair dryer and two kilos of tea from Argentina, which I didn’t drink at all. It’s so easy to over pack and over think that you need an entirely separate set of clothing for each day. If you’re out there meeting new people every night, and if you’re travelling right then you definitely are, you only need one t-shirt and a pair of pants. These people don’t know that the brown patterns throughout your only white collared shirt aren’t patterns, but stains that tell a novel bigger than Tolstoy. Pack less, pack less and pack less. You won’t need it, downgrade your backpack and learn how to pack your bags correctly.
